„Meilenstein in Bekämpfung des Klimawandels“, DNA-Veränderungen durch E-Zigaretten, Speichern von überschüssigem Strom und Krankheitsverläufe von der Wiege bis zur Bahre - Life Sciences Research Awards Austria 2024 vergeben Wien, 18. September 2024 – Für ihre international herausragenden Arbeiten sind am Dienstag in Graz fünf junge Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler ausgezeichnet worden: Die Life Sciences Research Awards Austria 2024 der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Molekulare Biowissenschaften und Biotechnologie (ÖGMBT) gingen an Chiara Herzog von der Universität Innsbruck, Cathrine Hellerschmied (IFA Tulln) und Elma Dervic (MedUni Wien). Die Life Sciences PHD Awards Austria 2024 gingen an Francis Belén Pacheco Fiallos (IMP) und Michael Baumschabl (BOKU). In der Kategorie Grundlagenforschung ging der Life Science Research Award 2024 an Chiara Herzog von der Universität Innsbruck (EUTOPS). Zigaretten und E-Zigaretten verursachen DNA-Veränderungen Zigarettenrauchen und E-Zigarettenkonsum induzieren gemeinsame DNA-Methylierungsveränderungen, die mit der Krebsentstehung verbunden sind. Lexogen NGS Services exclusively offers High-throughput RNA-Seq Service using QuantSeq-Pool with savings of up to 50%, valid until the end of 2024. QuantSeq-Pool uses sample barcoding and established 3’ mRNA sequencing to retrieve expression data from 100s – 1000s of samples used for large-scale screenings of cell-based assays. For this end of year promotion, we accept 48+ samples from cultured cells or other high-quality samples (RIN > 7) at our facility at VBC until Dec 30th, 2024.
