	ÖGMBT-YLSA (Young Life Scientists Austria) Access to activities organized by ÖGMBT-YLSA (Young Life Scientists Austria), being online and in person: Life Sciences Career Path (webinar series) company visits regular tables We highly encourage students to get involved as a YLSA volunteer. Besides being exempt of membership fees, YLSA volunteers acquire new skills by actively organizing events for young life scientists. Thereby, they receive first-hand insights in the Austrian job market and gain personal connections to life sciences companies
	ÖGMBT Annual Meeting Free participation for Bachelor and Master students, or member discounts for PhD students at the ÖGMBT Annual Meeting, which is the largest conference for life sciences in Austria featuring: top-notch invited speakers opportunities for presentations (talks, science flashes and poster presentations) industry exhibition showcasing latest products/services social events opportunities to network with junior scientists, established researchers as well as companies
	Life Sciences Career Fair Advantages (e.g. priority at workshops, free CV-photos) at the ÖGMBT Life Sciences Career Fair, which is the largest career fair for life scientists in Austria featuring: Exhibiting employers from academia & industry industry experts and career coaches employer presentations and career workshops.
	Life Sciences PhD Awards Austria Prestigious ÖGMBT Awards (The Life Sciences PhD Awards Austria). Each year, the ÖGMBT awards prizes to young researchers who have submitted an outstanding dissertation/PhD thesis in the field of life sciences and biotechnology. The award winners and their research topics will be presented to the public as well as to the scientific community.
	Travel grants for national and international congresses The ÖGMBT awards travel grants to support young colleagues (diploma students, doctoral students and post-docs) in actively participating in national and international congresses.

Membership duration and Cancellation

Memberships extend automatically from one year to the next. Memberships can be terminated at any time in writing to office@oegmbt.at. However, the membership fee for the current year must be paid.

Membership pausing

If you are going on a sabbatical, abroad for work/studies or on maternity/paternity leave, then let us know beforehand – your membership fee will be waived for a maximum of 2 years.
