• The FEBS Network platform was recently launched as a new online international forum for scientists working in the molecular and cellular life sciences. It provides opportunities to share advice, news and insights, and to connect and collaborate.The platform initially focused on ‘channels’ of expert content for targeted general audiences, such as early-career scientists, university teachers or registrants interested in science and society issues.  Other scientists join the community as 'Users' creating a profile page presenting their interest and posting content. Such content will also be featured on the network in 'Latest from all the community'. Enlarging support for its members during the first year FEBS has opened private ‘rooms’ as support and extension for FEBS community groups and FEBS-supported meetings.

IUBMB International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

ÖGMBT is a member organisation of the IUBMB. This allows members of the ÖGMBT to apply for scholarships or grants provided by the IUBMB.

The IUBMB is committed to improving education in biochemistry and molecular biology at all levels. The IUBMB Committee on Education and Training provides sponsorship for a range of activities which contribute to this goal. Providing opportunities for the next generation of biochemists and molecular biologists is a primary mission of the IUBMB. In addition to specific Education initiatives described below, the IUBMB supports trainees through Research Fellowships such as the Wood-Whelan and Mid-Career Fellowships, and by providing funds to Focused Meetings to be used for travel awards to trainees. Please, find the various funding listed below.

• IUBMB Focused Meetings should cover “cutting edge science” of clear relevance to Biochemistry and Molecular Biology to be supported.
• IUBMB Young Scientist programs are competitive awards covering travel, accommodation and meals for participation in the YSP held inconjunction with Congresses and Focused Meetings.
• Advanced Schools provide advanced training of PhD students and young postdoctoral fellows
• Educational Activities: The IUBMB is involved in a broad range of educational programs. 
• The IUBMB Education Fellowships provide opportunities for the development of both biochemistry and molecular biology educational programs and educators.
• IUBMB Wood-Whelan Research FellowshipsWood-Whelan Research Fellowships are competitive awards covering travel, incidental costs and living expenses for visits of 1-4 months to other laboratories in the IUBMB region.
• IUBMB Early-Career Research Fellowships were established in response to an increased demand for further training of mid-career biochemistsin the Developing World. These are short-term Fellowships (1-2months), covering travel and incidental costs.
• IUBMB PROLAB Fellowships: This collaboration between the IUBMB, PABMB, and ASBMB allows Latin American graduate students andpostdoctoral fellows to spend short stays (1-6 months) in thelaboratory of a scientist affiliated with ASBMB, in order to develop part of his/her thesis research work.
• IUBMB Travel Fellowships are available for young scientists in or from developing countries who wish to attend meetings in the IUBMB region.
• IUBMB Relocation Support for Displaced Trainees: This programme was established to allow IUBMB to respond rapidly to any natural disasters and acts of war that results in loss of infrastructure and resources at universities and research institutions.
• IUBMB PROBio-Africa Fellowships: This collaboration between the FASBMB, IUBMB, and FEBS allows African postdoctoral fellows and new researchers to spend short stays (1-6 months) in the laboratory of a scientist affiliated with FEBS to carry out experiments
• The IUBMB Travel Fellowships are designed to support international travel for biochemistry and molecular biology trainees (must be enrolled in a Ph.D. program or junior researchers within 5 years of receiving a Ph.D.) to attend international meetings
• The IUBMB Jubilee Award Lectures recognizes a senior investigator who has made transformational findings in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology.
• FEBS-IUBMB Events: This collaboration between IUBMB and FEBS provides financial support for invited speakers at FEBS events
