ProCoGen Training Workshop

“Promoting a functional and comparative understanding of the conifer genome- implementing applied aspects for more productive and adaptive forests” (ProCoGen) is a four year EU-funded research project, officially launched on 1st Jan. 2012. It is a collaborative initiative integrating the activities of 20 European research groups, across 11 European nations, and strengthening international collaboration beyond the continent with two research groups in Canada. This project addresses themes related to genome organization, identification of genes and gene networks involved in phenotype-genotype and environment interactions, by applying latest technological advancements for sequencing, genotyping, and gene expression analysis. It also aims at providing tools for tree breeding and forest management to better equip our forests for global environmental changes.

ProCoGen is organising a training workshop not only for project members, but also for other researchers, and scientists involved in plant genomic research. The main focus of this event will be plant bioinformatics. Nine distinguished speakers from Europe, America, and Canada have been invited to share their experience in forefront genomics and applied bioinformatics research. This workshop will also give the participants an opportunity to interact with our project members.

As the seats are limited we cordially invite applications with a few lines of motivation for participation as selection criteria mailed to:
