August 23–28, 2015

Course summary: Nuclear receptors are crucial signal-dependent transcription factors that control development, physiology and disease by acting as sensors for small-molecule hormones, metabolites, nutrients, environmental compounds and synthetic drugs. The field offers many attractive examples of how basic research findings lead to successful pharmacological development and clinical applications. Our course aims to provide young scientists with an integrated view on recent advances, through lectures from experts and an emphasis on student-based activities to stimulate scientific dialogue and create a friendly and inspiring atmosphere.
