The Extremophile Center research is focused on molecular and cellular mechanisms of stress
resistance and adaptation of organisms to extreme environments as a major basis for
applications in medicine and pharmacy as: (1) anti oxidants and other cell protectants, (2) new
drug targets for therapy of fungal infections and (3) optimization of fermentation processes.
