The annual ECCO Oncopolicy Forum is an innovative platform for inspiring cancer policy debate at EU level. It brings together a multi-stakeholder audience spanning the entire oncology spectrum to openly discuss and share experiences and tools in an effort to reach a common insight to fight cancer in partnership.

Last year’s Oncopolicy Forum, ‘The Future of Personalised Cancer Medicine in Europe’, took stock of the evidence, infrastructures and policy measures needed to move personalised cancer medicine from a concept to clinical practice, and the roles and responsibilities of the many stakeholders involved.

Download last year's report now, providing a detailed overview of the scientific, ethical, financial, political and practical challenges of making personalised cancer medicine a reality, and including contributions from key stakeholders such as the EU Commissioner for Research and Innovation, Máire Geoghegan-Quinn and Member of the European Parliament, Alojz Peterle.

  • Video presentations, ‘soundbites’ and interviews with key stakeholders are online.

The 2013 edition of the Oncopolicy Forum will take place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, during the multidisciplinary European Cancer Congress. The largest event of its kind in Europe, the Congress focuses this year on ‘Reinforcing Multidisciplinarity’. With 33 exciting tracks and practice-changing presentations anticipated, the meeting is expected to attract over 18,000 participants.

This year’s Oncopolicy Forum, will take place on 30/09 and 01/10 and will bring together members of the oncology community and policymakers to discuss how to navigate the complex challenges of cancer research, treatment and care and agree on ways of working together to ensure informed policymaking in the area. Keynote speakers will include the European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy, Tonio Borg, and former Portuguese Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education José Mariano Gago.

We look forward to welcoming you in Amsterdam to collectively advance effective cancer control in Europe, for the benefit of patients.
