We are pleased and excited to announce that after a 4 year break the European Congress on Biotechnology will be back in 2024, with the over-arching theme: Grand Challenges for Biotechnology: Health; Food Security; and Global Warming

The Congress includes three major biotechnology events:

• the European Congress on Biotechnology ECB2024, biennial event organised by the European Federation of Biotechnology since 1978,


• the IBS2024, an event of International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry IUPAC, and


• the annual conference of the Nederlandse Biotechnologie Vereniging (NBV) – NBC-24

The Congress will bring together top scientists, as well as leaders from biotechnology industry and academia, to share their knowledge that will form the basis for future commercial innovations. The programme of the Congress includes plenary sessions, symposia, workshops, and panel discussions, as well as a trade exhibition and networking opportunities.

The confirmed Plenary Speakers include:

Chris Bowler, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris, France

John van der Oost, Wageningen University & Research, the Netherlands

All attendees are invited to submit an abstract and present the research as:

• a flash poster presentation
• a poster presentation
