Dharmacon Gene Editing Tools – CRISPR/Cas9

The CRISPR-Cas9 system has gained popularity in the gene editing field due to its relative simplicity and ease of use compared to other gene editing methods. It was originally adapted from the bacterial Type II CRISPR system and utilizes a Cas9 endonuclease guided by RNA to introduce double-strand DNA breaks at specific locations in the genome.

In this seminar we will describe the Dharmacon Gene Editing tools to achieve efficient knockout. We will present our design algorithm and the two platforms we offer, one based on a synthetic crRNA and the other on a lentiviral sgRNA. And we will discuss approaches for validating the editing events.
