Position Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed (junior) lab technician, preferably with experience in molecular biology techniques, virology and/or immunology to join our highly motivated and dedicated Virology team. The focus of this position is to establish novel methods for research on viral vectors. The advertised position is primarily laboratory based.

• Generating and characterizing viral vectors (BSL-2) using cell- and molecular biology-based techniques
• Assisting in establishment of new molecular biology, virology and/or immunology techniques and protocols
• Participating in the qualification of the developed methods, under appropriate Quality framework where applicable
• Providing accurate records of all work processes and results in compliance with industrial documentation standards
• Presenting data at internal meetings
• Maintaining pleasant condition of laboratory and equipment, take over responsibility for organizational and lab management tasks
• Contributing to a friendly and productive work environment

Qualifications

• MTA, BTA, Dipl. Ing. (FH), B.Sc. or M.Sc. in relevant field (e.g. Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Immunology)
• Previous laboratory experience and BSL-2 experience is an advantage
• Experience with immunological, virological or molecular biological and mammalian cell culture techniques
• Experience with Quality systems (e.g. GLP, GCLP) is an advantage
• Work experience in biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is a plus
• Independent and proactive work style, detail-oriented, well-organized
• Open-minded and communicative team-player
• Fluent in written and oral English. Fluent or willingness to learn German

We are required by Austrian law to post a minimum salary. The minimum monthly gross salary for this position is EUR 2.346,- based on fulltime (40 hours per week); depending on experience and qualification salary can be negotiated. In addition, we offer a performance-related bonus payment and participation in our stock option compensation program.
