A PhD position (4 years) is available at the research group of Priv. Doz. Dr. Andreas Seeber, PhD at the Department of Internal Medicine V (Haematology and Oncology, Director: Prof. Dr. Dominik Wolf) at the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria. The group focuses on translational cancer research with a particular focus on functional validation of potential novel targets/pathways in gastrointestinal oncology and sarcomas (for details also see: Seeber et al., Clin Cancer Res 2022; Kocher et al., Clin Cancer Res 2022; Puccini et al., NPJ Precision Oncology 2021; Seeber et al., ESMO Open 2020).
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student with interest in the following research areas:

Gene editing (e.g. CRISPR/CAS9) for functional genomics

Targeting DNA damage repair and chromatin remodelling system
-
Bulk and single cell sequencing
The successful candidate will work as part of a highly motivated and dynamic local research team. Furthermore, she/he will have the possibility to be integrated into an international group (Precision Oncology Alliance - POA) that is dedicated to globally accelerate precision oncology.
