Those who want to contribute their work, can do so via abstract submission. And here is how to:

  • Login to the “registration & abstract submission system”
  • You will be asked to select one topic of a Life Science Tuesday
  • Then you will be asked to select your presentation type – here you can choose between “Short Talk” or “Science Flash” (see explanation below)
  • Submission deadline is always 2 months before the respective Life Science Tuesday – for example abstracts for the first Life Science Tuesday on October 6 need to be submitted by August 6.
  • The length of abstracts, excluding title and list of authors with affiliations, must not exceed 2500 characters including spaces.

The Chairs for the respective Life Science Tuesday topic will review the abstracts. You will receive the confirmation for your presentation as “Short Talk” or “Science Flash” 1 month before the respective Life Science Tuesday .

Short Talks:

Short talks are a well known feature of our ÖGMBT Annual Meetings. Each Life Science Tuesday will feature 3 short talks.

In our virtual meeting room, you will present your short talk live via Zoom before the audience in 12 minutes plus three minutes for Q&A.

An abstract of your “Short Talk”, your photo, affiliation/contact details will be viewable online for registered participants, but also be part of the program/abstract booklet, which will be made for each Life Science Tuesday and be sent to all registered participants.

Science Flashes (in lieu of poster presentations):

What was formerly a “poster presentation” is now a Science Flash. As contributor of a Science Flash you will pre-record your presentation (you can make a presentation, a powerpoint, any other animation – be creative!) as video and upload it via the “registration system”. Your presentation will be available to all registered participants a week before the respective Life Science Tuesday for review. Video should be max. 5 minutes. Instructions for recording will be provided.

At the Life Science Tuesday you as presenter will meet the interested audience in a breakout room, where you will be answering and discussing your presentation live.

An abstract of your “Science Flash” presentation, your photo, affiliation/contact details will be viewable online for registered participants, but also be part of the program/abstract booklet, which will be made for each Life Science Tuesday and be sent to all registered participants.

Depending on the number of abstracts submitted for an individual Life Science Tuesday, there will be a number of rounds for breakouts.

Best Talk and Best Science Flash Awards:

Each young scientist who has submitted an abstract has the chance to win one of the Awards for Best Talk or Best Science Flash.
