Job Description:
Your tasks:
-
Independent research focusing on mass spectrometric proteo-metabolomics and fluxomics, interaction between central metabolic metabolites (CoA, acyl-CoA, SAM) and protein modifications (acylation, methylation);
-
Maintenance of LC-MS infrastructure (Orbitrap mass spectrometer, triple quadrupole mass spectrometer, UPLC, IC, nano-UPLC);

Independent teaching of courses and administration of exams; Supervision of students, including supervision of bachelor's theses, and, if necessary, co-supervision of master's, diploma, and PhD theses;

Assumption of research, teaching, and management tasks.
Your profile

Required qualifications: Completed degree in natural sciences (PhD or Dr.rer.nat. in biochemistry/chemistry or related field);

Many years of experience in the field of proteomics, metabolomics, and fluxomics.

In-depth knowledge of quantitative analysis of biomolecules using LC-MS and IC-MS (DDA, DIA, label-free, TMT, MRM, PRM, SIM); bioinformatic processing and statistical evaluation (R, TraceFinder, DIA-NN, Waters_Connect, ProteomDiscoverer, CompoundDiscoverer) and sample preparation for the simultaneous analysis of metabolites, proteins, histones, and protein modifications

Desirable qualifications: Experience in protein biochemistry (immunoblot, gel electrophoresis), cell biology (proliferation assay and cell culture methods).

Communication and teamwork skills, demonstrated by supervising successful bachelor's/master's theses and technical staff in scientific teams; excellent German language skills; excellent written and spoken English skills, demonstrated by own publications.

The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for this position amounts to € 4.933 per month (14 times)*.
