A master student position is available from June 2025 in Christian Radauer's lab at the Medical University of Vienna. We are looking for a committed and motivated student from any field of life sciences. At the Department of Pathophysiology and Allergy Research, you will work in an international team at a department with worldwide reputation in the field of allergy research.

You will work within the FWF-funded project "Epitope recognition patterns in grass pollen allergy". During your practical work, you will be remunerated by an FWF-funded scholarship (Forschungsbeihilfe).

You will produce and characterize recombinant grass pollen allergens and their fragments in order to characterize the epitope recognition repertoires of IgE and IgG-antibodies from sera of grass pollen-allergic patients. Your work will involve a wide range of methods such as optimization of the expression of recombinant proteins, their purification and physico-chemical characterization as well as testing their antibody-binding capacities by ELISA.

Requirements and expected skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, biology, biotechnology, or a related field of life sciences
• Lab experience with basic methods of molecular biology and protein biochemistry
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
• Ability to work in a team but also independently
