Scientist Histology 

Rockfish Bio's mission is to promote healthy aging and prolong the human health span by developing novel senolytic therapies for age-related diseases and disorders. Based on our propietory senolytic target pathway we are running a drug development program for small molecule pharmaceuticals.

 

The challenge: We are seeking a talented and motivated Scientist to join our histology lab team. In this role, you

will be responsible for processing and analyzing tissue samples from preclinical and clinical studies. You will be supervised by our head of histology and work closely with other members of our research and development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tissue histology.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Asssist with tissue sample collection, embedding (OCT as well as paraffin) and processing.
  • Perform a wide variety of histological tissue stainings (Oil red O, H&E, Masson's trichrome, SA-b-galactosidase, IHC/IHF).
  • Imaging and analysis of tissue samples.
  • Development and optimization of staining protocols for a wide variety of tissue samples and analytes.
  • Document analysis workflows and results.
  • Maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Assist other team members perfoming analysis in the fields of molecular and cell biology.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • MSc in Medical Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in tissue sample processing and histological staining methods.
  • Experience with imaging techniques.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis.
  • High level of structured and methodical working attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

 

Ways to stand out:

  • Experience with huge variety of different staining techniques and tissues.
  • Experience with co-stainings.
  • Experience with FISH stainings.
  • Experience with stainings of senescent cells.
  • Experience in pathological analysis.
  • Proficiency in other analytical methods, such as RT-qPCR, WB, ELISA, flow cytometry, cell culture.

 

Payment for a full-time position amounts to at least 14x 2.369,18 Euro gross (Brutto), where the actual

amount will be based according to qualifications and experience. Flexible work models with optional home
