Position Summary
We seek an experienced, highly motivated (Senior) Lab Technician to join our team in a fast-paced drug discovery environment. In the Preclinical Development team, you will focus, together with scientists and peers, on developing novel therapies, characterizing the immunogenicity and efficacy of candidate therapies in a range of preclinical models and contribute to moving lead candidates into clinical development. This position covers both in vivo and in vitro techniques involving work in the laboratory and animal facility.
Main Responsibilities

Perform a variety of immunological assays including multicolor flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISpot, and multiplex cytokine profiling

Primary cell and cell line culture
-
Work with infectious materials under BSL-2 conditions
-
In vivo oncology pharmacology studies including mouse handling, surgeries, compound administration and preparation of tissue samples for ex vivo analysis

In vivo assessment of the therapeutic effect of candidates (monitor tumor growth)

Prepare documentation in accordance with Hookipa guidelines

Support preparation of lab procedures, protocols, reports, and SOPs
-
Address and solve simple problems within own assigned area of responsibility

Work under supervision and independently

Independently search for information in scientific and technical literature

Ability to work on weekends and statutory holidays
Qualifications
-
MTA, BTA or B.Sc. or M.Sc. or equivalent in relevant field (e.g., Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Biotechnology)

Detailed knowledge of multi-parameter flow cytometry and proficiency in FACS data analysis (FlowJo)

Experience with cell culture and immunological assays

Strong MS Office and data analysis software skills (GraphPad Prism, FlowJo)

Solid knowledge of animal welfare regulations
-
Basic knowledge in mouse handling, anatomy, blood, and tissue collection

Knowledge in anesthesia, surgery, in vivo imaging, and dosing techniques are a plus

Independent, efficient, and proactive
-
Motivated, flexible team player with the ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel and deliver high quality results under tight timelines

Strong interest in working in a creative environment and participate in all aspects of preclinical development
-
Eager to learn and develop new techniques
-
Excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus

We are required by Austrian law to post a minimum salary. The minimum monthly gross salary for this position is 2.754,- based on fulltime (40 hours per week); depending on experience and qualification salary can be negotiated. In addition, we offer a performance-related bonus payment and participation in our stock option compensation program.
