Position Summary:

We seek an experienced, highly motivated Lab Technician in immunological assays and cell culture to join our dynamic and expanding Translational Research team. You will work closely with scientists and peers to establish, optimize and perform immunological assays. The Translational Research team focuses on assay development and working with clinical specimen for mechanistic characterization. Further, you will support developing innovative therapeutic approaches using preclinical models and moving lead candidates into clinical development. In this position, you will be using a wide range of in vitro techniques.

Main Responsibilities:

• Cell culture of primary cells and cell lines
• Isolation of primary immune cells from human blood (PBMCs, T cells, NK cells)
• Perform immunological assays, which mainly include multi-color flow cytometry, cytokine analysis, cell sorting (FACS, MACS), ELISpot, cytotoxicity assay and live cell imaging
• Develop, perform and optimize novel experimental approaches
• Independent planning, execution, analysis and presentation of experiments
• Perform experiments with infectious material under BSL-2 conditions
• Follow documentation, sample/data management and documentation in accordance with Hookipa guidelines and support maintenance of lab equipment
• Ability to work on a weekend and statutory holiday on rare occasions

Qualifications:

• MTA, BTA or B.Sc, MSc. or equivalent experience in relevant field (e.g. Immunology, Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology)
• Hands-on lab experience with cell culture and (multi-color) flow cytometry is a must
• Good understanding of immunological and immune-oncological concepts
• Experiences in immunoassays are a plus
• Independent, efficient, proactive, well organized, solution- and detail-oriented, hands-on mentality
• Motivated, flexible team player with the ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel and deliver high quality results under tight timelines
• MS Office and data analysis skills (GraphPad Prism, FlowJo)
• Eager to acquire new knowledge, to learn, develop and optimize novel techniques
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus

We are required by Austrian law to post a minimum salary. The minimum monthly gross salary is EUR 2.754,- based on fulltime (40 hours per week). Depending on your qualification and work-related experience salary can be negotiated. In addition, we offer a performance-related bonus payment and participation in our stock option compensation program.
