Position Summary

We seek an experienced, highly motivated (Senior) Lab Technician with expertise in immunological assays and cell culture to join our dynamic Translational Research Team in the Preclinical & Translational Research Department. Working closely with scientists and peers you will be establishing, optimizing, and performing immunological assays including working with clinical specimen for mechanistic characterization of novel therapies. Further, you will support developing innovative therapeutic approaches using preclinical models and moving lead candidates into clinical development. In this position, you will be using a wide range of in vitro techniques.

• Perform immunoassays (including multi-color flow cytometry, ELISpot, cytokine profiling, cytotoxicity, live cell imaging, cell sorting FACS)
• Develop, perform, and optimize translational in vitro and ex vivo assays with human PBMCs and cell lines
• Isolation of primary immune cells from human blood (PBMCs, T cells, NK cells)
• Cell culture of cell lines and primary cells
• Perform experiments with infectious materials under BSL-2 conditions
• Independent planning, execution, analysis and presentation of experiments
• Documentation of experiments according to internal guidelines
• Maintenance of laboratory equipment and material stocks
• Ability to work on weekends and statutory holidays on rare occasions

Qualifications

• MTA, BTA, B.Sc., M.Sc. or equivalent in relevant field (e.g., Immunology, Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology)
• Hands-on experience with cell culture, (multi-color) flow cytometry, immunological assays and human PBMCs is a must
• Experience with molecular biology techniques (e.g., qPCR, transduction) is a plus
• Good understanding of immunological and immuno-oncological concepts
• Eager to acquire new knowledge, to learn, develop and optimize novel techniques
• Independent, efficient, proactive, well organized, solution- and detail-oriented, hands-on mentality
• Motivated, flexible team player with the ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel and deliver high quality results under tight timelines
• Strong MS Office and data analysis skills (GraphPad Prism, FlowJo)
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus

We are required by Austrian law to post a minimum salary. The minimum monthly gross salary for this position is EUR 2.754,- based on fulltime (40 hours per week); depending on experience and qualification salary can be negotiated. In addition, we offer a performance-related bonus payment and participation in our stock option compensation program.
