Position Summary

We seek an experienced, highly motivated Laboratory Technician with a strong background in Molecular biology and Immunoassay methods. The focus of the Non-Cell-Based Assay Team is to perform and optimize routine assays for product characterization and quantification. This position aims to strengthen the Routine Testing Team and is primarily laboratory based.

• Planning, execution and optimization of analytical non-cell-based assays for product characterization according to timelines (e.g., qRT-PCR, PCR, Western Blot, ELISA)
• Work with infectious materials under BSL-2 conditions
• Data analysis and evaluation, monitoring of assay performance, troubleshooting by integrating a broad biological, as well as technical understanding
• Preparation, review and revision of relevant documentation for all work processes according to Quality standards (e.g., technical reports, assay qualification reports)
• Serve as an assay specialist in assay transfers
• Able to address and solve problems within own assigned area of responsibility
• Maintenance of laboratory equipment and stock keeping

Qualifications

• MTA, BTA, Dipl. Ing. (FH) or B.Sc., M.Sc. in relevant field (e.g., Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Microbiology) or related subject in life science
• At least 2 years hands-on laboratory experience in the field of virology or immunology
• Experience with immunological, virological or molecular biological techniques (e.g., Western blot, ELISA, qRT-PCR)
• Interest in automation and machine learning is of advantage
• Creative and communicative team player with a strong sense of analytical and strategic thinking who can work both independently and as part of an (interdisciplinary) team
• Able to multi-task and work under time pressure on multiple projects
• Substantial knowledge and experience of Quality systems (e.g., GMP; GLP)
• Experience working in biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is of advantage
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written
• Valid EU working permit
