Beschreibung:
We are Austria’s largest research and technology organisation and an international player in applied research for innovative infrastructure solutions. This makes us a powerful development partner for industry and a top employer in the scientific community. Our Center for Health & Bioresources is seeking to hire new Ingenious Partners for our location in Tulln.

Junior Scientist (Post-doc) (m/f/d) in Plant Vigor and Stress Resistance

IMAGINE
• Environmental changes challenge plant growth and development and thus limit crop yield.
Our team analyses the mechanisms that plants use to cope with environmental stress and explores their potential for new crop improvement strategies.
• Within the framework of research and contract projects, we are working on the development of new regulators and biomarkers to improve plant stress resistance.
• We identified a set of small molecules that act as direct regulators of an important signaling protein and now seek to gain novel insights into signaling mechanisms for plant vigor and to provide a significant key to future crop improvement strategies.

ENGAGE
• In a collaborative interdisciplinary approach, you will evaluate and improve the ability of a set of small molecules to specifically modulate the activity of signaling proteins.
• You will apply the small molecules to gain novel insights into yet unknown signaling mechanisms and explore the potential of the new molecules to enhance stress resilience & crop performance.
• As experienced researcher you will co-supervise undergraduate and doctoral students.
• You will contribute to write project proposals in collaboration with academic and industrial partners.

ACHIEVE
• You will improve the effectiveness of the small molecules to modulate important traits in crops.
• Your innovative work will contribute to enhance stress resilience and yield stability in changing environments.
• Together with our experts, you will bring the innovative results into application.
Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:
• PhD in plant physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology or a related discipline
• Profound theoretical and practical knowledge in plant physiology, protein biochemistry, and molecular biology
• Proven publication record and expertise in project management. Experience in acquisition of third-party funding and contract research is an advantage
• Solution-oriented team player with hands-on mentality, independency, and high commitment
• Very good communication skills in English, German is an advantage

What to expect:
