Beschreibung:

Objectives:

The aging process is most apparent in the skin. In the "SKINMAGINE" (Multimodal Imaging of Aging and Senescence of the Skin) Christian Doppler Laboratory, we aim to study the interactions of metabolism, cellular communication and cellular quality control in skin aging accelerated by environmental stress.

We are particularly interested in cellular senescence, which alterations the epitranscriptome and ribosomes undergo during this process, and which consequences they have on cell and tissue physiology. We further aim to combine different optical and chemical imaging technologies to obtain a better understanding of aged and stressed skin.

Qualifications:

• Master degree in biotechnology, molecular/cell biology, or a related discipline.
• Documented research experience in molecular and cell biology.
• Experience with mammalian cells, RNA biology, and/or spectral/multimodal imaging is considered a plus.
• Motivation and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team from three universities and an international industry partner.
• High accuracy in scientific work and its documentation.
• Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written).

Methods:

· Cell culture of human skin cells
· Analysis of cell physiology
· Histology
· Analysis of RNA modifications and snoRNAs
· Raman / NIR microspectroscopy
