We are currently seeking a highly motivated Research Technician for Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics
(full-time). The position is available in the research group of Klaus Kratochwill, the Christian Doppler
Laboratory for Molecular Stress Research in Peritoneal Dialysis (CDL-MSRPD), at the Department of
Pediatrics of the Medical University of Vienna.
The Project
The CDL combines proteomics, metabolomics and transcriptomics data with bioinformatic exploration for
investigating pathomechanisms in order to develop improved therapeutic and diagnostic options for end
stage renal disease patients. Multi-omics datasets from in-vitro and in-vivo models and patient samples
provide additional insight into pathophysiological processes.
The main tasks in this position include proteomics and metabolomics sample preparation and the operation,
maintenance and troubleshooting of state-of-the-art LC-MS instrumentation. The position also includes
involvement in general molecular biology laboratory work and organizational tasks.
