Position Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed senior lab technician (m/f/d) with 3+ years’ experience in molecular biology techniques, virology and immunology to join our highly motivated and dedicated Virology team. The focus of our Virology department is the generation & characterization of novel vaccine vector candidates as well as basic and virological research. This position is primarily laboratory based.

Main Responsibilities:

• Generating and characterizing viral vectors (BSL-2) using cell- and molecular biology-based techniques
• Assisting in projects focusing on pipeline development and optimization of processes
• Supporting GMP-relevant production and characterization of recombinant vaccine candidates
• Prepare & verify test items for preclinical studies
• Planning and coordinating lab work to meet required timelines, coordinating projects interdepartmental
• Assisting in establishment of new molecular biology techniques and protocols
• Providing accurate records of all work processes and results in compliance with industrial documentation standards
• Presenting data at internal meetings
• Maintaining pleasant condition of laboratory and equipment, take over responsibility for organizational tasks
• Contributing to a friendly and productive work environment

Qualifications & Skills:

• MTA, BTA, Dipl. Ing. (FH), B.Sc. or M.Sc. in relevant field (e.g. Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Immunology)
• Minimum 3 years hands-on laboratory experience, BSL-2 experience is an advantage
• Experience with immunological, virological or molecular biological and mammalian cell culture techniques
• Experience with Quality systems (e.g. GMP; GLP) is an advantage
• Work experience in biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is a plus
• Independent and proactive work style, detail-oriented, well-organized
• Open-minded and communicative team-player
• Ability to multi-task and work under time pressure on multiple projects
• Be solution-oriented
• Fluent in written and oral English and German

We are required by Austrian law to post a minimum salary. The minimum monthly gross salary for this position is EUR 2.837,- based on fulltime (40 hours per week); depending on experience and qualification salary can be negotiated. In addition, we offer a performance-related bonus payment and participation in our stock option compensation program.
