The Molecular Oncology Group at the Department for Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Medical University of Vienna is looking for a master’s student for the following project:
Detection and Molecular Characterization of Circulating Tumour Cells in Lung Cancer
The aim of the study is to evaluate the prognostic and/or predictive role of circulating tumour cells in lung cancer. Our group uses a highly innovative new system for capturing and harvesting circulating tumour cells (CTC) from patients’ blood samples. For the lung cancer project, you will be responsible for processing blood samples using the micro-fluidic Parsortix® system. You will establish immunofluorescence staining of the processed samples and perform q-PCR analyses. In addition, you will be responsible for collection and correlation of patient-related clinical data.

 

DURATION: 12 months
STARTING DATE: as soon as possible
