A PhD position is offered in the group of Christian Radauer at the Department of Pathophysiology and Allergy Research. The topic of the project is the characterization of the IgE and IgG epitope repertoire of the major birch pollen allergen, Bet v 1. The work involves a wide range of methods such as expression, purification and characterization of recombinant proteins, immunoassays, basophil activation assays as well as generation of recombinant antibody fragments by using phage display. You will work in an international team at a department with an international reputation in the field of allergy research.

The successful applicant should have a master’s degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, or a related field of life sciences. Furthermore, lab experience with basic methods of molecular biology and protein biochemistry is required. Applicants should have an interest in science and in pursuing a scientific career and should be willing to present their data at international congresses.
