The research in the Christian Doppler laboratory for Optimized Expression of Carbohydrate-active Enzymes at TU Wien, which was started in October 2016, involves studies on epigenetic causes (including DNA methylation or histone modifications) for the degeneration of industry strains of the species Trichoderma reesei. This part of the CD-lab is the main research task of the vacant PostDoc-position.

Further tasks:

• Writing scientific articles or patents,
• Presentation of research results at scientific conferences,
• Operating a circular dichroism spectrophotometer,
• Taking over the function of the “Laborleiter” of the lab room assigned to the CD-lab,
• Participating in teaching and supervising PhD-, MSc- and Bac-students.

Start / Period: from 1. August 2018 / for 62 month

Salary / Working hours: 3,711.10 Euro pre-tax per month / 40 h per week

Requirements:

• PhD degree in the field of molecular biology, biochemistry or genetics (obligatory)
• Experience with filamentous fungi, in particular Trichoderma reesei (advantageous)
• Excellent in English spoken and written (obligatory)
• Excellent in German spoken and written (advantageous)
